Communicating with class members is an important part of leading a successful Financial Peace University class. The Coordinator Dashboard includes messaging tools that help you send announcements, reminders, schedule updates, and other class-related communications directly to participants.
This article explains how messaging works, who can receive messages, available message types, and what to expect after sending a message.
Send a Message to Your Class
To send a message from your Coordinator Dashboard:
- Sign in to your Coordinator Dashboard.
- Open your class from My Classes
- Click the Message tab.
- Compose a new message or select an existing template.
- Select the appropriate recipients.
- Send the message.
Once sent, recipients will receive the message through the delivery method associated with their account and notification settings.
Use Message Templates
The Coordinator Dashboard includes pre-built message templates that make it easier to communicate common updates to your class.
Templates can be helpful for:
- Welcome messages
- Weekly class reminders
- Session follow-ups
- Event announcements
- Last-minute schedule changes
Before sending a template, review the content to ensure it matches the needs of your class and includes any relevant details.
Best Practices for Class Communication
Consistent communication helps participants stay informed and engaged throughout their Financial Peace University journey.
Consider these best practices when messaging your class:
- Send reminders 24–48 hours before each class meeting.
- Communicate schedule changes as soon as possible.
- Keep messages brief and easy to scan.
- Include important dates, times, and locations when relevant.
- Avoid sending excessive messages that may reduce engagement.
- Review all content for accuracy before sending.
Regular, timely communication can help improve attendance, participation, and overall class engagement.
Troubleshoot Messaging Your Class
If you're having trouble sending a message, check the following:
Message Length
- Messages are limited to 3,000 characters
- This tool is designed for short updates, not long emails
Account Verification
- Your email must be verified to send messages
- If prompted, follow the verification steps in your account
Browser Issues
- Try sending your messages from a different browser (like Chrome)
- Log out and back in if needed
Message Delivery Expectations
After a message is sent:
- Delivery timing may vary depending on the recipient's notification settings.
- Participants must have valid contact information associated with their account to receive communications.
- Coordinators cannot override participant notification preferences.
- Sent messages cannot be recalled after delivery.
If a participant reports not receiving a message, ask them to verify their account information and notification settings.
